StopHateAB stands with and supports communities affected by all forms of hate, providing education, information, and proactive initiatives to foster a hate-free Alberta.

Vision

Vision

To empower Albertans to eliminate hate by building safer communities rooted in justice, dignity, and respect.

In working in collaboration of community, non-profits, government, law enforcement, justice and human rights institutions, StopHateAB seeks to bring comprehensive insight to issues of incidents and crime motivated by hate.

StopHateAB is committed to anti-hate initiatives and creating safe communities across Calgary Alberta supporting vulnerable groups targeted by hate based on race/ethnicity, 2SLGBTQIA+, faith/religion, people with disabilities, Indigenous communities, people from low socio-economic statuses. We work to foster an environment where all Albertans live in an inclusive, safe, caring and respectful hate-free community.

Our Principles

Our work is guided by principles that ensure every initiative is inclusive, transparent, and effective. These values shape how we collaborate, make decisions, and create lasting change across Alberta communities.

Inclusive

Members of communities in Alberta have meaningful opportunities to participate actively in the development and implementation of AHCC initives. Strategies are in place to ensure that youth and members of targeted grouples have equitable opportunity to participate.

Transparent

Interested stakeholders have ease of access to information.

Results-Oriented

Innovative, practical and measurable strategies and actions are supported

Responsive

People with expertise in various areas pertaining to hate are consulted throughout the develoment and implementation of any initives to ensure they meet the needs of all stakeholders.

Innovative

Outcomes addressing hate/bias crime and incidents are improved by initives that recognize and model best practices.

Collaborative

Capacity of collaboration between policing, justice, service agencies, and communities is encouraged and enhanced.
